4 hour work week is one of those books which motivated me to blog. It is one of the best books for time and resource management. Tim Ferris shares all his tips and tricks which he has learnt from his own experience and which he has tried and tested himself.

Do not read the book if you are happy with your 9 to 5 job. This book is how Timothy Ferris went from $40000 per year and 80 hours per week to $40000 per month and 4 hours per week. Also Blogging is one of the only few professions where you can practice 4 hour work week to great extent.

5. Focal Point — Brian Tracy

A book which guides to improve yourself in almost all important aspects of life. It teaches you to improve your productivity and encourage you to make your dreams come true.

6. Psycho Cybernetics — Maxwell Maltz

Maltz was clearly ahead of his time when he wrote this book and what’s more impressive is that he was 71 when the first edition was published. Forward-thinking books by men in their later years of life usually don’t happen. Especially ones written by those who are non-experts in the field of personal development and psychology.

Maltz was, in fact, a plastic surgeon and it was through surgically correcting certain “freakish” features on people’s faces did he realise that their self-image would rise within a few weeks.

Maltz was, in fact, a plastic surgeon and it was through his work he saw an increase in self-esteem of people who had “freakish” features on their faces surgically removed.

And then there were people whose self-image remained the same despite being made aesthetically better looking.

It was here that Maltz realised two things:

  1. Good self-image is core to a good life
  2. There is something deeper going on with regard to self-image over correcting a physical feature

I continue to mark up this book. It is amazing how she weaves God, Jesus, and the bible throughout the book. She backs it up with quotes from the bible. I’m ok with that some people might not be. When your on life’s journey there are bumps in the road because of your self inflicted habits. She went through life’s journeys because of her habits she changed the direction of her life by changing her habits. Her foundation was based on specific steps she wanted to take and her support for each step was supported by a quote from the Bible. Pretty good. A good read and I have destroyed the book with my highlights and markings- but it’s a keeper — for many reasons.

8. Getting Things Done — David Allen

Well, David Allen will let you in on a little secret. The problem is not that you are “too busy” … it’s that your mind is too full of clutter.

You need to get everything out of your head and into a reliable, sortable system of storage. That frees up your mind to do what it does best, thinking!

The other problem folks have is how they classify their loose ends. For instance, they group a whole series of tasks together as one thing. Let’s say “Plan Mom’s Birthday Party.” Even if you are great at keeping a “to do” list, the fact is, planning Mom’s party is really long series of tasks. So you stare at this one line, knowing there are so many things to do, and as a result, you do nothing.

Ever heard the old saying, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.”

The most beautiful and awesome book I have read ever… I have read this book for about 20 times. I am so impressed by the content of this book that I have gifted this book to more than 3000 people.. I would advise people that they should gift this book to their Dear ones and it would be the best and the most precious and the most beautiful and the most blissful gift to them.. It is the remedy for depression and frustration… It would really help to establish the regime of peace and understanding in the world if the principles contained in this book are followed diligently… Everyone must read this book.

Start With Why, by Simon Sinek, looks deeply at the power of purpose to motivate, inspire the self and others, and to produce great outcomes. Ostensibly about leadership, inspiring loyalty and devotion is something that also applies as a goal in modern marketing and in the quality of what you produce for your customers.

Start With Why ends with a reminder that finding your WHY is not to look ahead, or a result of market research, but from looking in the opposite direction as a process of discovery rather than invention. Discovering and coveting your WHY is not the hard part but the discipline to trust it, to stay true, and remain in balance and authentic is the most difficult part.
